Armand-Albert Rateau (1882-1938) was the designers’ inspiring artist for this Collection. In 2006 “The Grove Encyclopedia of Decorative Arts” defined him as “the most eminent of the ensembliers, the high-style designer-decorator who worked with luxury materials for the socially elite”. Alchyimia examined in depth his Egyptian and Pompei based arts conenctions and developed indipendently especially the floral style, offering a widely appreciated, light and transparent interpretation full of great current sensitivity.
