Chloé’s romantic allure and elegant design meet the urban mood of the new Chloé C Bag featuring the gold C logo that looks like a bold jewellery piece.
When a creative director leaves a brand, as we all know, there is always a feeling of nostalgia for the past and of curiosity for who will hold the reins of an iconic fashion house with a strong heritage and identity.
In 2017, when Claire Waight Keller announced her intention to leave Chloé after six years, the new designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi, with past experiences at Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga, had her chance to be in the spotlight.
To those who wondered if the creative director had changed the vision and aesthetics of the maison established in 1952 by a woman, Gaby Aghion, for women, Ramsay-Levi quickly answered with ready to wear collections, accessories and leather goods that combine the romantic mood and Parisian savoir faire of the brand with a more energetic design for a cool-girl vibe. The result is a nice mix of sophistication, strong personality and young attitude.
After the success of the Drew and Faye bags, designed by Claire Waight Keller, Ramsay-Levi embraced the logo trend for the Resort 2019 collection, introducing new bags and new hardware.
The new Chloé C Bag, also shown on the Spring 2019 runway, definitely fits this aesthetic vision. The bag is characterized by a large gold C and is available in two sizes, either in smooth or patent leather, called “spazzolato sfumato lambskin”.
The Mini C Bag is the smallest version, a structured croc clutch with a small interior capacity but still large enough to carry daily necessities. The Small C Bag has both a top handle strap, which is detachable, and a longer adjustable shoulder strap. Inside there is a long zippered pocket; this size also features a slit pocket on the back exterior of the bag.
