Kampos, a swimwear and ready-to-wear brand has received the B-Corp certification, an important confirmation of the commitment to build a more inclusive, sustainable economy and to push the cultural change necessary for companies to be able to face biggest challenges.
Kampos, founded by Alessandro Vergano two years ago, transforms plastic bottles, abandoned fishing nets and organic fibers into swimwear and ready-to-wear clothing with an innovative approach to luxury. From the choice of raw materials and production methods to its environmental impact, from packaging to the recycling program at the end of its life. Furthermore, all products are durable and infinitely recyclable.
These choices allow the company to respect the Earth and return all the materials that are part of the production cycle to it.
The products are in fact entirely made with fabrics that show high quality standards while respecting the environment; they are certified by Carvico and Jersey Lomellina, Eusebio and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The company also uses recognized sustainable processes with Newlife and regenerated nylon to produce its entire range of swimwear.
The B-Corp certification
The B-Corp is one of the most demanding certifications, which assesses the social and environmental impact of brands around the world.
B-Corp Certification confirms our long-standing commitment to redefine business practices and success, responsibly towards people and nature
declares Alessandro Vergano, founder and CEO of Kampos.
We face social and environmental challenges of unprecedented scope and urgency. Certified B-Corporations form a powerful community and global movement. We are purpose-driven leaders who share the same values and aspirations to create a more balanced world. We couldn’t be more proud to join the B Corp community and inspire others to embrace a purposeful journey for the good of our society and our planet.
A key component of the impact assessment B is that companies demonstrate that they are using profits and economic growth for a better purpose. Since its launch, Kampos has donated over 30,000 euros to protect our seas and recently joined the Coral Conversation Project, an initiative launched in 2009 by Planhotel Hospitality Group and the University of Milan-Bicocca.
