As long as it is sparkling and colorful. This seems to be Roger Vivier’s motto for the Spring/Summer 2021.
In this delicate, complicated time, some have not lost their creative vision, and have actually been going on relentlessly, with absolutely unprecedented results. Gherardo Felloni is among them.
The French brand’s creative director has something new in store the next summer season, first of all a debut jewelry collection complementing the footwear and accessories. Felloni is certainly not short of ideas: surfing the fashion house’s historical archives and drawing from his own passions, he blends inspirations that never give way to nostalgia.
This is how one of Roger Vivier’s staples, the buckle, has turned into a bling-bling jewel whose perfectly symmetrical crystals recall gardens from the Palace of Versailles, echoing Felloni’s interest in ancient 19th-century pieces. Black and white, pink and silver color the Broche Vivier bracelets with mini buckles, which decorate hair clips and earrings, too.
The latter are a key piece of the line, thanks to the skillfully crafted combination of pearls and crystals, like in the Fibbia e Perle drop earrings. The it piece, however, is the Bouquet Strass tiara, enriched with one hundred crystals in different sizes creating a line of flowers set on a velvet basis, woven and applied by hand by Roger Vivier’s artisans.
Sparkling surely is a symbol of rebirth after the unforgettable year we lived and the one we are still living. But color is just as much: sherbet and pastel shades like lilac and pink tint the footwear and accessory collection, inspired by Felloni’s relaxing stay in connection with nature on the Giglio Island, Tuscany.
The iconic buckle created in 1965 is still the star of the Viv’ in the City line: it comes with a tonal coating on the mules, and is hand-made in patent or suede leather paired with chic, practical kitten heels. Wedge heels flaunt coated buckles on the front strap and a comfortable platform in the same shade. In the patent leather court shoes with lacquered heels, the tonal buckle is a timeless hit.
Bound to become a cult bag, the Miss Vivier comes in an original, exquisitely crafted shape and light, fresh colors, particularly pink and white, perfect for the warm season. The Broche mini buckle decorates this style too, alongside an ensemble of crystals on the shoulder strap, applied by hand by experienced artisans. In line with the current trends, the Mini Miss Vivier bag appeals to many with its compact, sparkling style.
Once again, Felloni has rewritten the brand’s codes in elegance and style.
