On April 22, World Earth Day is celebrated, established in 1970 by the United Nations on a symbolic date, exactly one month and one day after the spring equinox.
Care for the environment and safeguarding the planet must be the cornerstones that must guide companies and brands in their business planning and in the development of a message that can coordinate the market and eco-sustainability
Salvatore Ferragamo for the environment
“Host, nurture and support the exchange around the issues of sustainability, inclusiveness, cultural support.”
This is what you can read on the Salvatore Ferragamo website, the historic luxury fashion brand that for 2021 has chosen to join the World Earth Day by launching this innovative portal.
It is called Sustainable Thinking and is a virtual space specially designed to offer a digital experience dedicated to caring for the environment and respect for our planet.
The new platform was established through the coordinated interventions of an international network of contributors with different experiences, ready to deal with the evolution of eco-sustainable issues.
Salvatore Ferragamo chooses a section of its website to uniquely communicate its conception of green thinking, which focuses on inclusiveness and constructive dialogue.
New eco-sustainable products
Not just portal. Salvatore Ferragamo on the occasion of World Earth Day 2021 has decided to realize his message of attention and care for the environment that surrounds us also by launching two new products, destined to become new icons.
The first new object of desire is the Earth Top Handle bag, a reinterpretation of one of the most loved Ferragamo bags ever, the Top Handle, a Nineties creation by Fiamma Ferragamo. The sustainable version of this bag is made entirely of FSC certified cork, a renewable and natural material.
The second luxury product that Ferragamo has chosen to offer to its public is a splendid men’s watch: it is called the F-80 Skeleton Sustainable, proposed in the two symbolic colors green and blue, it is distinguished by the double Gancini symbol and the strap, made with materials with reduced environmental impact: a thin layer of FSC-certified cork covers the internal part, while the external part is in fabric composed of recycled PET fiber.
