The most beautiful places in the Maldives

Following the important recognitions received from the prestigious World Travel Awards, we point out some of the most beautiful places not to be missed if you decide to leave for this enchanting place with breathtaking beaches and enchanting locations.

We start with the Malé Atoll, where immense expanses of white sandy beaches and kilometers of coastline stand out to visit.

Even the food and wine side is considered a real flagship among royal oyster mushrooms, summer squash and banana flowers.

Another place that deserves to be explored is the Raa Atoll with its capital Ungoofaaru, while the main tourist resort is Meedhupparu.

The distance between the two atolls is about 150 km and it is possible to travel between the two by seaplane. Raa Atoll, long forgotten by mass tourism, stands out for its pristine nature.

What to visit in the Maldives

Each place represents an oasis of peace. We like to recommend the Taah Atoll, which has a population of about 10,000 inhabitants.

The most populated island of the atoll is Thimarafushi which has about 2,500 inhabitants. In ancient times the name of this atoll was Kolhumaduva and it was governed by King Koimala who was the first to unite all the atolls of the Maldives under one kingdom.

The inhabitants of this place today call the atoll simply Kolhumadulu and includes 66 smaller islands.

Of these, however, only 13 are inhabited: Burunee, Dhiyamingili, Gaadhiffushi, Guraidhoo, Hirilandhoo, Kandoodhoo, Kinbidhoo, Madifushi, Omadhoo, Thimarafushi, Vandhoo, Veymandoo and Vilufushi.

Each island of the Maldives, which can count on the floating city, offers sceneries not to be missed
