After having dressed the celebrity parterre of the official Gala Dinner of the Venice Carnival with her period clothes, (the mayor Luigi Brugnaro, Mara Venier, Bruno Vespa and his wife, Diletta Leotta, Bebe Vio and family, Giulia Arena and the newly elected Miss Italia 2021 Zuedi di Palma to name a few), Antonia Sautter dedicates the fashion show of the Queens of the most exclusive social event of the Carnival, “her” Il Ballo del Doge, to the high craftsmanship “Made in Venice”.
She had announced it and so it was. Antonia Sautter dedicated the first post-Covid edition of Il Ballo del Doge, which illuminated the night of last Saturday before Pisani Moretta, to the theme of rebirth that underpinned the entire evening; an individual, collective, entertainment and arts rebirth, silenced by two years of pandemic emergency.
The show staged by the artistic cast of Il Ballo del Doge (over 100 artists including performers, musicians, dancers and actors) opened with a tribute to the 1600 years of the Serenissima, which took the form of a fashion show of sculpture dresses by haute couture signed by the Atelier Antonia Sautter. The international public was thus able to appreciate all the facets of the lagoon city, imagined by Antonia Sautter as a Queen with multiple souls who have marked its extraordinary history and told through her haute couture dresses, rigorously Made in Venice.
From the Blue Venice, the Queen of the Seas advancing in a riot of silk waves in the company of her husband, Poseidon, to the Golden Venice of Doges and dignitaries, passing through the sartorial interpretation of the Silk Road, the intriguing eighteenth century of Courtesans. And again, the architectures of the secret gardens that conspired to strengthen the mysterious allure of the lagoon city and were translated into a profusion of fine floral decorations on the dress dedicated to them, and the Queen of Arts and Music, what made Venice a point of attraction for the cultural elites of the twentieth century. To conclude with a red dress of passion that crowns Venice the Queen of Love.
My job is to make a show, to bring a breath of lightness and optimism even where headwinds blow. This I decided to do months ago, when I announced that I would be staging the Ballo del Doge in a situation of great health uncertainty and this is what I feel I can reaffirm now that Il Ballo del Doge took place in such a complex week in other ways. . My strongest and most intimate hope is that the train of the Venice Queen of Love costume will cross borders
Antonia Sautter declared at the end of the evening.
The after dinner saw two international DJs Cici and Lele Sacchi on the console who enlivened the evening with style and elegance.
