CastaDiva Resort: a five-star opera

The splendid five-star luxury complex of CastaDiva Resort & Spa enjoys a magnificent position overlooking the breathtaking view of Lake Como.

This elegant Resort, which was inaugurated in May 2010, comprises nine villas for a total of seventy-seven rooms, superbly set within a 26,000 square metre botanical park with its profusion of century-old plants. It is fascinating to walk along the shady footpaths, pedestrian walkways or up and down the romantic flights of steps embraced by lush vegetation, which meander between the villas. Through a myriad of different shades of green, it is possible to glimpse the blue water of the lake, so intense and present that it seems to breathe. The lake waters, steeped in the charm of their eternal transformation, can be seen from the rooms, some of which are as large as 250 square metres, or from the terraces and private gardens.

Positioned around Villa Roccabruna, once home of the opera singer Giuditta Pasta, who bought it in 1827, are the other villas, all romantically named after the protagonists of the most  marvellous operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Wagner and of course Vincenzo Bellini.

Set between avenues, cascades and luxuriant gardens, here we find the Villas Fiordiligi, Gilda, Leonora, Dorabella, Violetta, Isotta along with two other private villas, Amina and Norma, each one with its own particular traces of a sumptuous past.

In contrast, an ultra-modern and luxurious Spa extends over a surface area of 1,300 square metres, offering splendid sensorial experiences to be enjoyed amidst countless plays of water, a characteristic salt room and the VIP Spa Suite dedicated to the four elements of nature: Earth, Air, Water and Fire.

And leaving the Spa behind them, visitors then pass through a fairytale landscape on their way to a heated floating pool which, looking onto the lake, is complete with a Jacuzzi tub, sundeck and pool bar. L’Orangerie is the name of the à la carte restaurant offering traditional and local Italian cuisine with a great selection of specialities, such as freshly made pasta, bread and desserts, all with the nostalgic aroma of home cooking; the Bellini bar, on the other hand, offers a choice of dishes that are perfect for informal lunches and a list of cocktails and drinks served in the enchanting Sala Camino or, in the warm season, out on the terrace with its lake view.

The magical setting of the CastaDiva Resort & Spa well lends itself to exclusive events where, in the rooms designated for these occasions, Sala Aida, Sala Nabucco, Sala Don Pasquale and Sala Semiramide, the natural beauty of this location goes hand in hand with the most avant-garde technology. From the L’Orangerie restaurant, access is gained to the lakeside with its private landing for boat services and berthing; but the lake also offers the chance to practise many other activities such as swimming, water skiing, sailing, canoeing and diving. Sports enthusiasts may also play golf, in one of the many golf clubs in the area, or go trekking and cycling. Free time, spent between shopping sprees to Milan or Lugano, cultural trips or theatre shows, will also enliven a stay at the CastaDiva Resort & Spa, an enchanting venue that knows how to create that warm atmosphere any guest will appreciate, knowing that it is dedicated exclusively to him.
