On June 5, according to Vogue Italia, Chanel announced with very little notice, that the Cruise 2020-21 collection would be revealed, on the digital platforms of the Parisian fashion house today.
Chanel also shared the name of the event, “Balade en Méditerranée”.
Chanel thus opens up to digital shows, becoming the first luxury brand to present a collection via the web pending the digital fashion weeks dedicated to men’s fashion and high fashion to be held in July.
The parade was due to take place on 7 May in Capri, but the appointment had been canceled due to the health emergency linked to the spread of Covid-19.
The Cruise 2020-21 would have been the first presentation outside Parisian borders for Virginie Viard, at the creative helm of Chanel from the first months of 2019.
