Dolce & Gabbana returns, after over 20 years, among the members of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion. The brand will be present in the official fashion week calendar and will participate, with a fashion show, in the first edition of the Milan Digital Fashion Week, scheduled from 14 to 17 July 2020.
Dolce & Gabbana is a great return, which strengthens our system and our association. It occurs in a difficult time for fashion and is the result of the strong bond that stylists have with our country. Today more than ever it is important to be united to create a system and safeguard our industry unique in the world
Cnmi President Carlo Capasa said in a statement.
Fashion needs, now more than ever, a strong positivity and union. At a particular moment like this we thought it was important and right to join forces. We supported the Camera di Moda ‘Italy, we are with you’ project and then we chose to be part of the Digital Fashion Week. These collaborations brought us closer to Camera della Moda and returning to be part of it was a natural consequence. We hope that together we can look to the future together, giving fashion the respect and attention it deserves, both to support the production chain and because fashion itself is one of the maximum expressions of Italian creativity
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana commented
Corriere della Sera reports that Dolce and Gabbana will parade on 15 July, at 5.30 pm in the gardens of the Campus University of the Humanitas Hospital. A real outdoor fashion show that will then be broadcast live on the Digital Fashion Week platform.
It’s time to assert us. There is too much envy towards us Italians, yet this is where everyone comes to produce. Let’s show them who we are
the founders of the brand pointed out to the Italian newspaper.
The duo supports the Humanitas University research institute directed by Professor Mantovani, now engaged in studies on Covid 19, location of the show
It took a long time to figure out if it was possible for the lockdown and the new provisions. But now, with maximum security, we will do everything. We will send the invitations and everyone will be free to decide. If they have to, the models, all Italian, will parade with the masks, no problem. We are by far the most prepared place for security
explained the designers who are instead preparing uniquely digital content to present the haute couture, haute couture and fine jewelry collections.
