A new edition of Dining with the Stars is now underway. The event, a culinary excellence, has now become a trademark of Planhotel Hospitality Group, which has been taking the premium cuisine of Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe to the Group’s most exclusive locations since 2015.

New additions are expected in 2020 to the “magic formula” that is updated every year for a surely unique, unforgettable culinary experience by JRE, an association of young talents sharing a passion for the profession and a philosophy that mixes tradition with creativity and skillfulness in their preparations.

This year’s event will take place at three major locations – Diamonds and Diamonds Thudufushi in the Maldives, owned by luxury brand Diamonds Hotels and Resorts, and THE VIEW Lugano, a design boutique hotel – and will run for 12 months, for more continuity given its ever-growing success.

It all started on December 25 on the small Island of Athuruga, a natural paradise of coral sand, crystal-clear waters and lush vegetation, with Vedran Petranovic, the executive chef at the Dubravkin Put, Croatia, and his cuisine, tracing a “journey around the Mediterranean”.
THE VIEW Lugano will join in on January 22, once again with a Croatian chef: Alexandar Grubić from the Badi restaurant in Umago (one of the 100 top restaurants in Croatia), whose style combines local traditions and creativity to bring on peculiar, vibrant flavors that always respect the memory of the past. His culinary masterpieces include offerings based on raw fish, fruits, vegetables and spices.

For the first time this year, the “culinary weeks” by JRE in the Maldives will unfold all along the 12 months, with 39 top chefs from all over Europe heading to Diamonds Athuruga and Diamonds Thudufushi: Slovenian Ana Ros, named as The World’s Best Female Chef 2017 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurant, Italian Davide Maci, Paolo Frosio, Dario Guidi, Emanuele Donalisio, Giulio Coppola and Leonardo Vescera, and many others from France, Spain, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and Romania.

Every chef will perform show cooking for a preview of their culinary art, with two unmissable gourmet appointments: the “gala dinner” at Athuruga’s enchanted Overwater Restaurant and Thudufushi’s four-handed dinner on the beach with the executive chef of the two Giacomo Gaspari resorts, an ayurvedic cuisine expert whose natural cuisine blends Mediterranean flavors, Eastern techniques and food science.


In 2020, the gourmet dinners by JRE at THE VIEW Lugano will turn into not-to-be-missed monthly appointments: in the third week of every month, the design hotel’s breathtaking view of the lake and exclusive ambiance will welcome a chef from the association, who will take the flavors and fragrances of their cuisine to Lugano.
The sixth edition of Dining with the Stars will involve 3 exclusive locations and 51 chefs for 12 months, to gift guests with a truly unique experience.
