Celebrating fashion houses’ commitment to sustainability, the Green Carpet Fashion Awards will be held on September 22 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, as announced by Carlo Capasa, president of CNMI (the Italian Chamber of Fashion), and Livia Firth, founder and creative director of Eco-age.

The event will be attended, among others, by Donatella Versace, Anna Wintour, Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Gisele Bündchen, Iman Abdulmajid, Alberta Ferretti and Pierpaolo Piccioli.

The Green Carpet Fashion Awards honor the innovators, the enthusiasts, the revolutionaries of a ground-breaking fashion world moving towards a sustainable future. For years now, CNMI has been working to implement sustainable changes, in collaboration with Italian brands and all the fashion houses that, with their many factories and plants, contribute to make the Made in Italy brand famous all over the world. We’re deeply proud of confirming this third edition of the Awards, and we’re excited about what the night will have in store
said Carlo Capasa.

At the ceremony, the Gondolieri Venezia association of Venetian gondoliers will be awarded the Eco Stewardship Award for the responsible use of wool in the creation of their uniforms.
We’re delighted to bestow the Eco Stewardship Award to Venice’s gondoliers. Thanks to the collaboration with The Woolmark Company and Venetian fashion house Emilio Ceccato, gondoliers have been wearing Australian Merino wool, a versatile fabric that is 100% natural and renewable
said Livia Firth.

Winners will receive the Chopard statuette, which represents a woman wearing a long braid made of Fairmined certified gold and an aluminum dress, completed by a glass cape and an engraved golden apple tree.
