“The fabrics that Missoni makes can be well in a frame” said Enzo Biagi talking about one of the long-lived brands of the Italian fashion history. An expression that fits perfectly to the fashion house established by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, that has always had a strong connection with art, since 1971 when they presented a patchwork collection in Cortina, compared to the contemporary art works by the press.
From the 1900s artists as Balla, Delaunay, Fontana, Kandinsky, Mondrian, Munari to the exponents of the contemporary scene as Capogrossi, Tancredi, Accardi, the artsy references which we can find in Missoni’s collections, which are characterized by a strong use of the color and prints, are many.
This time is Anton Alvarez’s turn, a young Swedish and Chilean sculptor, who inspired the new Menswear Autumn Winter 2019-2020 collection with his colorful artistic works. Angela Missoni has been following the artist for several years and said

The collection is composed of luxurious and soft knitted pieces using cashmere and mohair with lamé details, abstracts elements and handmade embroideries which match with bomber jacket from velvet necks, long coats and blazers combined with degrade jacquard pants.
Silhouettes are flowing and structured, colours are delicate such as coral, camel, electric blue, turquoise, burgundy and soft jumpers reinterpret the undulations and the sinuous spirals of Alvarez’s sculptural works. The proposals for the night are ‘70s inspired tuxedos in lamé and lurex shirts.
