The winner is the Vision collection for the bathroom by Monica Graffeo.
The BIG SEE Product Design Award was established in 2018, analyzing the geographic area of Southeast Europe and selecting the most creative projects and products to deepen and promote the cultural and economic potential of the region.
The jury consists of industry experts and internationally renowned designers and the selection of the winners is based on the originality, creativity and innovation of the submitted projects.
As Marco Diana, Sales Manager of Rexa, says, “It’s important that the uniqueness and distinctiveness of Vision is also certified by this award that supports companies to spread the excellence of their design creativity”.
Vision is a scenic collection of monolithic architecture, conceived as a space in which sensoriality, functionality and flexibility dialogue harmoniously: the wall becomes a vertical container that integrates the washbasins and conceals technical compartments equipped and customizable with accessories to offer maximum functionality with essential and elegant aesthetics.
The shallow depth (18 cm) of the hanging modules gives rise to compositions that can be developed vertically or horizontally, adapting to the surrounding environment: columns, wall units, storage mirrors, drop down doors, all elements are designed for infinite configurations, multiple sizes and a rich range of finishes and materials including stoneware, wood, Fenix®, Eco.mortar and Corian®, so that you can design your own personal vision of the bathroom environment.
“This collection”, continues Marco Diana, “has the peculiarity of recalling a totemic object where to find harmony between body and mind, between perception of materials and practicality of objects. Receiving the BIG SEE Product Design Award confirms Rexa’s ability to constantly reinterpret the furniture concept, to transform it into an innovative, people-friendly furniture system”.
Monica Graffeo, the brand’s award-winning art director, adds: “I’m very pleased with this international recognition that once again validates the harmony with Rexa, which stems from a shared inclination to look beyond while maintaining a strong sense of concreteness. This is how Vision was born, a project that reasons about reduced-depth containment to better experience the bathroom environment and to find things right where they are needed, not in the second or third row, but all in the foreground”.
Rexa’s R&D team also defined in detail technical aspects such as siphon inspectability, material impermeability and ease of use to arrive at a collection with attention to detail.
The award ceremony with the presentation of the winning projects will take place on 6th October in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
