The International SeaKeepers Society facilitates ocean conservation with luxury yachts world-wide. With the unique ability to access almost every corner of the world’s ocean, yachts combine endless comfort, boundless adventure, and the potential to advance marine sciences and raise awareness about global ocean issues.
Like most non-profit organizations, SeaKeepers relies on the generosity of individuals to help support their mission. SeaKeepers gives vessel owners the ability to participate directly in oceanographic research, conservation, and education with hands-on experiences.

Through direct involvement with the yachting community, SeaKeepers collaborates with numerous organizations, academic institutions, and government agencies in order to accomplish their foremost initiative, the DISCOVERY Yacht Program.
By working closely with yacht owners and crew to coordinate research and outreach activities, scientists are able to allocate funds they would normally spend on acquiring a charter, to maximize research potential aboard a participating vessel. Through this program, vessel owners who donate time aboard their boats may qualify for tax benefits to the extent allowed by law and have the opportunity to participate directly in marine research and ocean conservation.

The DISCOVERY Yacht Program is comprised of four categories: Scientist-led Expeditions, Citizen Science trips which include instrument deployments, Educational Outreach activities, and Community Engagement events. There are opportunities for various degrees of participation, from a 10-minute instrument deployment while en route to your next port, to an afternoon outreach trip with children, to week-long expeditions with a team of expert researchers.

Supporting SeaKeepers means different ways to get involved. From becoming a year-long supporter and joining the Membership Program, to volunteering at the next beach cleanup, to providing a vessel for programming – there are opportunities for everyone who wants to support ocean conservation. The International SeaKeepers Society mission
The International SeaKeepers Society promotes oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community. SeaKeepers enables the yachting community to take full advantage of their unique potential to advance marine sciences and raise awareness about global ocean issues.
What they do
The International SeaKeepers Society supports marine science and conservation by utilizing privately owned yachts as platforms for oceanographic research, educational outreach, and marine conservation. Their efforts eliminate vessel costs and permit scientists to allocate those funds to maximize research potential.
