Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz world class polo ‘On top of the world’ with team St. Moritz winning gold.
The by-line of St. Moritz is ‘Top of the World’ and sitting in the packed grandstands for the Finals today it does truly feel like there is no place better to be anywhere on the globe.
Record crowds have descended upon the iconic frozen lake, set in the beautiful, sun-bathed setting of the Engadin Valley, to watch the snow polo giants do battle. The sunshine is super-hot, the champagne ice chilled, the setting unbeatable and the polo is truly world-class.
The Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz Trophy, sponsored by Chopard, was presented by Evelyne Sutter, Manager of the Chopard Boutique St. Moritz and Marijana Jakic, Brand Manager St. Moritz to a delighted Valery Mishchenko. The four winning players each received a Mille Miglia Chopard watch.
The best Playing Patron, presented by Piero Dillier, Eviva Polo St. Moritz, was awarded to Fabio Meier. The Most Valuable Player was awarded to Max Charlton, who received a Chopard Alpine Eagle St. Moritz Edition, as sponsored by Chopard. Whilst the Polo Times Best Playing Pony was awarded to Casanova played by Nacho Gonzalez for the majority of the fourth chukka, who received a bespoke pony rug and 200 Swiss Francs for the grooms.
And so, after such an amazing three days of fantastic polo, the birthplace of polo bid farewell to the 36th edition of the event. The Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz 2020 had managed to surpass all expectations and had once again been a triumph at every level and a credit to Reto Gaudenzi and his 250 strong team.
