Alessandro Mario Cesario and Studio Atelier P for Radisson Milan

Radisson Collection Hotel

Studies design the common spaces made by Concreta.

Alessandro Mario Cesario (AMC) and Studio Atelier P have designed the common spaces of the Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia, Milan and Concrete, an interior contractor specializing in the creation, production supplies of custom furniture for hospitality facilities, made custom furniture for all common spaces to the firm’s design.

The inspiration suggests a discreet and intimate atmosphere like that of Anglo-Saxon hospitality, enriched by eclectic elements that suggest experiences, memories, passages from one part of the globe to another. Green, the color used to connect all these emotions, from the reference to the old Milanese streetcars and cabs of the 1960s, is already present in the lobby, permeating the entire environment and emphasizing the sign in the center of the reception area.

Alessandro Mario Cesario (AMC) and Studio Atelier P designed the common spaces of the Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia in Milan, Italy.

The color choice meets the mirrored effect of Florim’s marble-effect stoneware on the floor and columns, and continues through to the Sofia Kitchen & Bar. The Cocktail Bar is housed in the building’s former courtyard, the former headquarters of Allianz, and aligns perfectly with the high standard of Studio Marco Piva‘s architectural design.

Inside, soft seats and tables inspired by Alessandro Mario Cesario and made by Concreta to AP’s design, soft textures of jacquard fabrics, and a general strong tactile dimension that Atelier P, thanks to the expert eye of Interior Decorator Alessandro Mario Cesario, characterize the dining and lounge area. Architects Luca Piccinno and Mattia Pareschi design a private dimension in a sphere intended for a public that is indeed demanding but that wishes to find, even in the charming hotel, the appendage of its own home or workplace.

Lighting design is declined in 1930s abat-jours by Concreta design AP on the bar counter and in large chandeliers made to the Studio’s design; the sofas, armchairs and stools are in velvet-also designed-and wallpaper covers the walls. In the private room on the ground floor, privacy is provided by a fabric séparé reminiscent of the folding doors of Gio Ponti created by DOOOR and picks up the floral motifs done in WHITE INKIOSTRO on the walls; glass chandeliers with trimmings by Rothschildbicker surmount the long, linear table by Taula Interior design AP. Finally, a vintage ceiling-height bookcase divides the lobby from the coworking area.

Using elevators, framed by shelving that houses volumes, photographs and other memorabilia from AMC’s expert research, one arrives at the ISSEI Rooftop, a restaurant and Cocktail bar that mixes Japanese and South American flavors. Multiethnicity is at the heart of the concept, providing continuity with some architectural details as well as the table. The striped wallpaper joins the ceiling texture, which is also striped, and dictates the color palette where warm earth tones and exotic colors contrast with black and orange dominate. From the 1920s mood the mahogany counter, chandeliers and hat stands. Concreta’s AP design art deco coffee tables match the mid-century glossy briarwood sideboards.

The restyling project at the Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia in Milan, also includes exteriors that will house an open-air, raised swimming pool accessible by means of a wooden platform and around it.
