“ART ICONS The Legends of Contemporary Art” in Fidenza

ART ICONS Le leggende dell’Arte Contemporanea

A unique exhibition to understand Contemporary Art without preconceptions.

An exhibition to break down preconceptions and understand contemporary art – ART ICONS allows us to understand Contemporary Art and see the world around us with different eyes. To live a multi-sensory experience that cancels distances, breaks down barriers and preconceptions, to say no more I could do it too” but to finally open up to the total emotion of Art within everyone’s reach, without filters.

Koons, Baloon Monkey

More than 50 works by the biggest names in Contemporary Art, together in a one-of-a-kind exhibition event: Jeff Koons, David LaChapelle, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Damien Hirst, Banksy, Kaws, TvBoy, Blek le Rat, Bearbrick, Marco Lodola, Mr. Savethewall, Angelo Accardi, Daniele Fortuna, Tomoko Nagao. A journey from Pop Art to New Futurism, from Street Art to Flat Art, touching on sculpture, photography, illustration and the new frontiers of digital art such as NFTs.

Bearbrick, Ghost Buster and Murakami, Arats Series

The creations of these world-renowned artists are true icons because they have indelibly entered the common imagination like Banksy‘s flower-thrower, Kusama ‘s polka-dotted pumpkins or Murakami‘s superpop flowers.

An unusual and striking location, in Fidenza legendary artists meet for the first time in the out-of-the-ordinary setting of two historic buildings: the church of St. Michael which extraordinarily reopens to the public after many years, and the OF Orsoline Fidenza which instead is already an active cultural hub of the city. A one-of-a-kind exhibition challenge that brings together historic architecture and unmistakable pieces of international Contemporary Art, legendary works such as Damien Hirst‘s butterflies, David LaChapelle‘s photographs, TVBoy‘s spray provocations or Bearbrick and Kaws‘ colorful collectible toy art.

Art Icons is a journey into art that can continue at Fidenza Village, one of 11 Villages of ‘The Bicester Collection’ around the world. A true open-air museum thanks to the countless art installations and murals created by the best-known international street art exponents. From the entrance portal decorated in “tribal pop” style by French artist Camille Walala, to the “anamorphic” murals of Peeta, which seem to move the two towers of the Village, to the two Moai art duo’s Urbansolid, inspired by the giants of Easter Island, the sculpture of Fidia Falaschetti whose work “Egoji” greets visitors at the entrance to the Village, stimulating an ongoing dialogue between individual and work.

Bearbrick, Pink Panther

On the occasion of the ART ICONS exhibition in Fidenza, Banksy’s hand-finished work on cardboard “Agile”, created to raise funds to help Ukrainian war victims, will be exhibited for the first time ever. Along with this, his most iconic works, “Love is in the Air” and the “Girl with balloon”. In addition, a treat of the exhibition, three works by French artist Blek le Rat, considered the “daddy of Banksy” will also be on display because he anticipated the mysterious Bristol artist in the 1980s by filling Paris walls with spray-painted rats and is now considered one of the forerunners of stencil art.
