A record-breaking pool: Deep Dive Dubai has become the Guinness World Record holder as the deepest in the world. Diving into the pool means reaching a depth of 60.02 meters. The capacity is equal to 14 million liters of water: the equivalent of six Olympic-sized swimming pools.
The research and development work lasted more than ten years. The strange shape is not accidental: it is that of a giant oyster, a tribute to the typical tradition of the United Arab Emirates of diving for the collection of pearls.
Deep Dive Dubai: what is Nad Al Sheba’s swimming pool
Deep Dive Dubai is located in Nad Al Sheba, 15 minutes from downtown and 25 minutes from Dubai International Airport. The pool water is kept at a constant temperature of 30 degrees. The system includes a state-of-the-art audio and lighting system, thanks to which it is possible to swim in different environments.
Inside the structure there is even the largest underwater film studio in the area. This space includes an editing room, 56 underwater cameras that guarantee maximum safety for guests, a huge video wall and 164 lights positioned to cover every corner of its 1,500 square meters.
A submerged city
On the seabed of the Arabian peninsula, there is not only the elusive pearl as a fortune to be discovered. An authentic submerged city has been built in Deep Dive Dubai, just like those on the island of Lanzarote, Alexandria in Egypt or Lake Qiandao.
An artificial Atlantis in which a team of freediving professionals leads residents and visitors of all levels, from absolute beginners to more experienced divers.
The pool doesn’t stop at floating tunnels and abandoned roads that simulate lost civilizations.
The complex is full of luxury activities: an 80-seat restaurant from whose windows you can admire the wonders of the seabed; spaces for meetings, events and conferences; an accessories shop with the best scuba diving equipment.
Deep Dive Dubai is currently open by invitation only: it will be accessible to all by the end of 2021. The cost of the entrance ticket has not yet been disclosed.
