For its third Swiss edition, Les Rencontres Jean-Marc Quarin will take place on Friday, May 25, 2018, in Lausanne in the prestigious setting of the Beau-Rivage Palace Hotel. Jean-Marc Quarin and Fabrice Léger invite the Swiss public, connoisseurs and professional, to come and taste the quintessence of Bordeaux that rekindle the taste of wine: thirty wines in 3 vintages, all presented by their winemakers.
The day will feature two outstanding tasting workshops. The first is a vertical tasting of thirteen vintages of Château Mouton Rothschild led by Philippe Dhalluin: a gratifying journey guided by observations on how quality in the expression of this legendary wine has been improved.
The second is a vertical tasting of Hermitage La Chapelle of the Paul Jaboulet Ainé Estate, presented by oenologist Caroline Frey, who owns the property and has driven substantial recent changes: the adoption of organic agricultural techniques since 2008, thorough refurbishment of the vineyard and the implementation of a new gravity-fed winery in 2010.
And because these wines deserve to accompany the best of gastronomy, an inaugural evening will launch the festivities on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the restaurant of Beau-Rivage Palace, La Terrasse.
This is a unique occasion to get to know the Bordeaux wines that exhilarate the palate before any
“market” enthusiasm in favour of this or that vintage or wine. The exhibition leads visitors through a meticulously thought out itinerary. Having followed it, everyone easily understands the Bordeaux winegrowing area and the prowess of the wines selected. The quality of the wines selected is so high that you can reliably identify your preferences.
