Sanremo 2024: art pills, fashion vibes, lifestyle

Ariston Sanremo

A whirl of emotions and successes that beat to the rhythm of the heart.

A festival of brilliant lights and deep emotions also characterized the 2024 edition of the Italian Song Festival of Sanremo, attended by illustrious guests, including Prince Albert II of Monaco, who was present during the international cover evening. The Principality creates many synergies with the Italian Riviera, so close to the wonderful Côte d’Azur, involving some correspondents such as Silvano Marco Corradi, a collaborator of the Montecarlo Times, in the Sanremo events.

Made in Italy triumphed in every aspect, especially in fashion trends. The winner Angelina Mango performed during all the evenings wearing Etro in a floral explosion of vibrant nuances and precious arabesques with sequins, highly appreciated also by the fashion consultant Sonia Iampieri; Clara opened the festival with an outfit reminiscent of Capucci’s sculptural dresses in cobalt and silver, much sought after and drawn from the archives of Armani Privè.

Fiorella Mannoia, on the first evening, sang in candid embroideries embellished with brightness, an immaculate vision that exalted femininity, created by Luisa Spagnoli, a brand famous for its history that emphasizes the strength of female entrepreneurship. Paolo Oldani, already associated with famous brands, has dressed in the past some singers who trod the stage of the Ariston, including Anna Oxa during the performance of ‘Un’emozione da poco’, and defined the 2024 festival “a festival where fashion acted as queen, not just as mistress: the looks were manifold, different, exaggerated, the different vibrations of music were also expressed in the outfits, like that of Dolce&Gabbana of Annalisa, very refined.” Oldani also appreciated Lorella Cuccarini who chose the vintage of different brands in which she found a total black Gianfranco Ferré with lapels and a high pearl necklace.

Even men’s fashion triumphed with looks of brilliant highlights, from Amadeus with Gai Mattiolo to Fiorello who wore a splendid Giorgio Armani in the final evening. In addition to Irama, always stylish, many artists, like heroes of yore, warriors in their armor, chose bright transparencies. Marco Mengoni during the first evening proposed a metallic mesh with rhinestones and during the Medley a transparent floral look in burgundy velvet. The styles he proposed: a classic Giorgio Armani, Fendi tank tops, the charm of Valentino and Versace with Tiffany jewelry.

Even the creativity expressed in contemporary visual art was discovered at Sanremo 2024, starting with Marco Lodola who created the luminous installation near the Ariston and his unmistakable sculptural silhouettes, then continuing in many festivals, including the refined setting of the prestigious Liberty building of the Grand Hotel et Des Anglais, directed by Paolo Madonia, in synergy with the cultural association The Everlasting People, “Le Sempiterne” proposed “The golden sounds of nature”. In this splendid Art Nouveau-style location inspired also by the enchanting Grand Tours of yore, illustrious personalities such as Winston Churchill, Gabriele D’Annunzio, the poet Trilussa, Guglielmo Marconi, the Crown Prince of Japan, the Duke of Bergamo and Filiberto Duke of Pistoia, to name just a few, have stayed.

Already at the end of the 19th century, Thomas Cook’s travel guides recommended these charming routes that also unite the Ligurian and Lombard lands and waters to discover their wonderful panoramas. The exhibition, in fact, focuses on the beauty of Mother Earth with a flight extended towards planetary motion. In the week dedicated to music, these canvases bring us back to the sweet sounds of what surrounds us, where everything vibrates, from the seas to Matteo Laganà‘s canals, from the melodies of the planets by Pier Marcello Castelli, to the spiritual dimension of the works by Marika Laganà and Italo Corrado inspired by the enchantment of natural scenery.
