In Dubai, the horizontal skyscraper is the new dimension of luxury

One Za’abeel houses resorts, exclusive residences and workplaces.

A brand ally for high-profile projects, Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, together with its distributor partner Arteco Ceramics, is participating in the futuristic mixed-use complex One Za’abeel, a project unique in its complexity, spectacular in its aesthetic rendering and capable of representing the evolution of contemporary architecture.

One Za’abeel is a project of Ithra Dubai LLC, a subsidiary of Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), focused on the development and management of strategic real estate assets globally. Located in the heart of the city and in close proximity to the International Financial Centre, not far from the Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and the airport, it covers a total area of 530,000 square meters and bears the signature Nikken Sekkei, a prestigious Japanese architecture, engineering and more than 25,000 projects in 50 countries.

One Za’abeel consists of two skyscrapersOne Za’abeel Tower, measuring 300 m and 68 stories and One Za’abeel – The Residences, of 235 by 58 stories – housing hotels, spaces for offices and luxury residences, fractionated by a futuristic scenic walkway, the cantilever “The Link,” designed “outside” the towers and over 226 m long, a place of bar, eleven exclusive restaurants, a boutique, spa spaces, infinity pool and rooftop terrace. Below, they flow, the roadways of a highway-a visionary project that pushes the limits of design and engineering to the extreme.

The One Za’abeel Tower houses state-of-the-art workspaces, exclusive penthouses, the One&Only resort, One&Only Private Homes residential solutions, as well as the SIRO Hotel, which integrates the hospitality concept with holistic advanced fitness offerings.

In contrast, sophisticated design and contemporary elegance distinguish the 264 panoramic and ultra-luxury apartments of different types and sizes, including duplexes up to a 5-bedroom penthouse within the One Za’abeel The Residences tower.

Within this context of excellence are the surfaces produced with natural and technologically advanced raw materials from Fiandre, with tailor-made solutions through ad hoc processing, such as decorations and brass inlays, as well as in consulting on volume applications.

Coordinating the entire process together with the distributor partner Arteco Ceramics – key consultant in supporting the project and dealing with the client – Fiandre carried out the supply of the surfaces ceramic Calacatta Statuary, from the Marble Lab collection, the beauty of which is enhanced by the ivory-white color furrowed by faint gray veins, used throughout the pavements of the floors and common parts of the residential tower, from the corridors to the interiors and elevator landings and in the flooring of the entire reception area and lobby of One Za’abeel The Residences tower.

Established in Abu Dhabi as a company specializing in supplying high-quality building materials for projects in the United Arab Emirates and the Arab countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Arteco Ceramics, also based in Dubai, is an architectural services company dedicated to the design sector that has focused on high-end materials made with environmentally friendly technologies since 2008.

To lend sophistication and a sense of aesthetic continuity to the entire project, the Calacatta Statuario shade was also used in the 264 apartments by defining floors, wall tiles, shower trays, and vanity tops in the bathrooms, which were developed in different configurations and fittings. In an effort to recover materials and minimize waste, in the custom designs planned to create the tops and decors, Arteco ensured that the surfaces used generated as little material waste as possible. To embellish the setting of the rooms, in which a sophisticated total-look effect was achieved, decorations with a “herringbone” pattern were made in some showers.

In line with the UAE ‘s goal of zero net carbon emissions by 2050, One Za’abeel aims to offer the highest standards of sustainability, implementing the requirements of Gold LEED certification. The technical ceramic surfaces made-in-Italy of brands Iris Ceramica Group, including Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, have in fact obtained the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver, released by “The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute”, one of the most ambitious global standards for the design and manufacture of safe, circular and responsible products.
