Calvin Klein‘s Co-Founder, Barry Schwartz and his wife Cheryl have the ultimate paradisiac home in Santa Barbara. A sanctuary for peace and quiet, this beachfront home stands as one of the most amazing places on the planet.
This idyllic beachfront home had the help of a talented team such as the architects Howard Backen of Backen & Gillam, interior designers Kathleen and Tommy Clements of Clements Design, and landscape architect Mark Rios of RCH Studios. With the goal of establishing a glamorous concept, you can see through Barry’s office, an incredible seating area that features a Bouclé-covered sofa, bamboo chairs, and a cocktail table by Jimi Zivic Design from Ralph Pucci.
There’s an amazing and richly landscaped courtyard, into the house’s massive social space, and from there out to the breathtaking embrace of the terrace and ocean view. On a terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the sofa and Meridiani lounge beds and armchair are covered in a Perennials fabric.
The living room opens to the terrace, where the Schwartzes can lounge with friends, family while enjoying the most amazing views. Through this massive space, there are custom armchairs in a de La Cuona linen and bespoke cocktail table, along with a 1960’s Stig Lindberg lamp on the side table.
On the upper floor of the home, there are a matched pair of master bedrooms featuring sliding glass walls that disappear, opening the broad spaces to an endless Pacific panorama from on high. In a bedroom, Jean-Michel Frank lamps are on top of custom bedside tables, along with bespoke linens of a Lee Jofa fabric, Charlotte Perriand stools and Axel Vervoordt’s cocktail table.
Next to the open-plan kitchen, Axel Vervoordt chairs sit on a de La Cuona linen slipcovers, on a mesmerizing dining table by Joseph Dirand. There’s also a Bulthaup kitchen design with Dornbracht fittings and French 1950’s painting. Calvin Klein‘s Con-Founder Santa Barbara home couldn’t be more perfect to enjoy the most amazing days at a beachfront space.
