Tiziano Guardini/Jacopo Ascari’s sustainable capsule in Bemberg™.
From Oct. 19th to 28th is staging in Venice the 3rd edition of A Dress for Venice, a project of Venezia da Vivere that is a concrete message addressed to the fashion world about the values that a sustainable collection should embody: eco-design, innovation, high craftsmanship, responsibility, and partnerships involving companies of excellence throughout the supply chain.
Inspired by the city of water, the clothing collection was designed by the eco-designer Tiziano Guardini, illustrated by the artist Jacopo Ascari and made with Asahi Kasei‘s Bemberg™ yarns: a unique and precious fiber certified for its biodegradability in both soil and water.

The capsule’s evening dress debuted Sept. 7th on the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival, worn by actress Margot Sikabonyi, was called “The greenest dress of the Festival” by the press.

The capsule was produced by the Venetian brand Martina Vidal Venice, who also enhanced the garments with some details in Burano lace, an ancient art nominated for inclusion in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, with the support of artisan companies from Venice and the Veneto region identified by the Veneto Fashion Table.
The collection will be presented with a preview to the press on Friday 20th October at the Ca’ di Dio Hotel, with the participation of all project players, and from Saturday, Oct. 21st, will be exhibited at the Atelier Martina Vidal in Burano, on the occasion of ApritiModa, the initiative that sees historic fashion houses throughout Italy open their private spaces to the public.

“Returning to Venice and experiencing the emotions of this place and the artists who embellished it is intoxicating,” says Tiziano Guardini, while Jacopo Ascari for the illustrations adds, “I started from a careful study of the works of Canaletto, Guardi and Bellotto, masterpieces of 18th century Vedutism.”
